Colleague's new baby
Mummy's colleague recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and he is so cute. Few of us from the office made a trip to her home in Jalan Ampang to give them a visit. The baby is so adorable and all of us was so 'geram' and wanted to carry him. He was such an angel that we have not heard any cry from him when we were there.
We wish Magali congratulations and welcome to the Mama club!
Renovation Progress
Mummy and daddy had been very busy lately with the development of our new home. Currently renovation is in progress and is expected to complete by month end. We had the made arrangement with the contrator on Father's day this year and they started work the next day. They estimated that it will take 6 weeks to complete it.
We are extending our kitchen to the max and hoping to get more space for cooking. Daddy was really excited with the new kichen and mummy was excited with her new wardrobe. Anyway work still in progress. Hopefully we can complete this whole process before Joshua's birthday which we plan to have it in our new home.
Well if anyone is looking for a contractor or a person to do the cabinet/wardrobe, can look for mummy or daddy as we are happy with our current one and they did a good job.

Shopping for our new home
We have not had the time to go shopping for our new home. We are taking step by step to see what foundation needs to be done first. Now that we are planing to extend our kitchen we are looking for contractors with reasonable and not cut throat price to do it for us. Just extending a kitchen at about 7 feet could cost from RM13,000 to RM23,000. Not including paint, grill, alarm system, furniture, build in cabinet and wardrobe.
Everything is $$$$. But where to find? If we try to cut on our plans, we might regret one day for not doing it. There are so many things mummy wanted to do but no time to sit and think. We are engaging a cabinet designer to design the cabinets that we want for the kitchen and room. She is quiet good and patient. We changed our design few times and yet she still accomodates. If I am her, I will be screaming at myself. Anyway, we will see the result once everything is finalized. Hopefully everything will go on well and that we will have the dream home that we always dream off.

Mummy needs a break
Mummy have been working non-stop for the past 2 weeks and only reaches home earliest 8pm. Mummy is so tired and don't know when is this going to stop. Mummy thought that when mummy recruited new staff mummy would be relief, but instead more work come pouring in and it never stop since then.
Now that the boys are back home, mummy is also sometimes had to spare some energy for them when mummy come home. But one thing for sure, mummy tried very best not to bring work home unless it is very urgent. Especially weekend, it is time for our boys and not so much of work. At times like this, mummy can't quit either. Mummy wish mummy could but.....who knows one day.

We've got the keys
Mummy was kinda impress the way they do thing. We had one developer rep with us, the contractor that built our house and also a staff from the developer's office. They make sure that they run through the house with us and exlain what we need to do.
After clearing all of that, we took our time to go round the house and check it. They gave us 18 months to check for any defect and revert to them if there is any. We were in our new house till evening before we left for home cause so many contractors came to ur house after that t ask us if we want to extend our house. So we got all of them to quote us for the extra space that we need.
It was a tiring experience, but we were excited. Now the real headache starts. We need to plan what to do and what to buy. It has been a month now and we have not finalize with our extension. We roughly have some idea what to do with the house. We are not in a rush to move in, therefore we take our time to do it.

Korea - Part 2
Korea was never one of mummy's dream holiday destination. Mummy always like to go to Western countries. Asian countries has always been second choice. Since mummy have the privilage to travel for free, why want to go to Asian country?
This trip was a working trip for daddy and mummy have not been to Korea before. So what the hack, since it falls coincide with the weekend and mummy only had to take 2 days annual leave, mummy decided why not. Since mummy was not that busy at that time and both our boys were away with their grandma, it was a getaway opportunity for mummy. Mummy needed the break anyway.
Arriving Korean was a breath of fresh air. It was somehow like a little of China and a little of Japan. The city was very clean. Air was cooling as it was end of spring and beginning of winter. Our first day was free and easy. We wanted to see the city and we spend around 6 hours there. We went to their so-called, Petaling Street. There were a lot of things sold there. Most of it are costume jewelry, clothes and food. Well, basically the stuff there are not like China or even Petaling Street in terms of pricing. The most you can get is about 10% discount. Their pricing are somehow standard and not much of bargaining that we can do. Their money's worth is lower than our rate but their cost of living is higher. 1000won equals to at about USD1.
Mummy and daddy spend around RM1,000 for a 2 day stay there. We did not shop pretty much. The sight seeing that we went the second day cost us USD100. But is was worth is as we were brought to a palace and also few other interesting areas. We learned a few words of Korean.
People there like to bow like Japanese too. They speak very loudly but they are nice people. Mummy found that Taekwondo is one of their curriculum activities, the country where daddy got his black belt certification. Everyone in Korea knows Taekwondo. Our hotel bus driver, even asked mummy and daddy to touch his leg to feel the muscle that he has because of taekwondo.
Mummy like the was they speak English, sound funny but cute. Overall mummy enjoyed the whole trip. Thanks to daddy and the rest of his crew that made mummy's stay interesting and fun!
Daddy was very happy and showing it off

Seoul, Korea
This year mummy had an interesting wedding anniversary present from daddy. A trip to Seoul Korea! It was a working trip for daddy as he was working while mummy was the passanger for the flight. It was a short trip but memorable.
We left for Incheon, Korea on MAS flight on 13 May night flight. Poor daddy was working the whole night. We arrived Incheon Airport around 7.30am (6.30am Malaysian time). We were exhausted but excited at the same time. The hotel that we were staying is just 5 minutes drive from the airport. Before our seat could get warm up, we were already at the door step of the hotel. The hotel name was Best Western Incheon Airport Hotel. It was a 3-4 star hotel, comfortable and had friendly staff. Mummy like the way they speak English. Well we learned a few words of Korean while we were there.
When we arrived at the hotel, we checked with the reception to see whether they have a coach to town (Seoul). They had once a day and the coach will leave at 12.00pm and it will take around 45 minutes to reach the town centre. We registered ourselves and check in our room and slept for 2 hours before we woke up to catch the coach.
Korea is basically China + Japan, that's how mummy feels. We had a cool weather, not so hot and not so cold. The things there have more quality than China but not as hi-tech as Japan. Even the food is like a combination. Mummy will be back for the second part of our trip!

It's Been A While
It's been a while since Mummy wrote anything on the blog. Didn't know that there are many people who actually read mummy's blog to get an update on our family and also at the same time see our two boys grow up. Mummy's apologies for not writing for so long. It has been hectic for the past few months and now that mummy is a bit more relief, there are so many things that mummy want to update.
Well wait up for mummy's posting. Will have more stuf coming soon, right after mummy come back from Incheon, Korea.

Our Last Holiday - Gold Coast, Australia
We had our last family get away in December last year in Gold Coast Australia and it was fantastic. We wanted to go there for two reason, 1) to spend quality time with our two boys and 2) that they can enjoy themselves with the many theme parks that Australia is willing to offer.
This is mummy and daddy's second time to Brisbane and Gold Coast. The first time was for our honeymoon and now with our two boys. In summary, we were there for 6 days, well basically 1 day gone for travelling and the rest are solid days in Gold Coast. We were fortunate that daddy's friend offered his house for us to stay and we did save a lot with his family's hospitality and also for bringing us around site seeing.
We had opportunity to go to 3 theme parks all together and our boys were 'happy all the time'. Joel would wake up every morning to sing that 'happy all the time song'. They were excited especially Joshua as we promised him that we would take him to see Batman....who happens to be his favourite at that time.
Mummy did take lots and lots of photos, around an average of 500 photos a day. Well mummy just can't help it especially with the new camera that daddy bought for mummy. Every scene was a scene that need to be captured. And luckily as mummy anticipated, mummy brought mummy's laptop so that mummy is able to download the pictures everyday.
The rides in the theme park was all kiddies ride for their age. Joshua and Joel was like so amazed with so many new things around them. This is their first trip overseas. So it's kinda good memory for them. Well mummy need not say more. Picture says a thousand words.

The Kangaroo was so friendly and they just let us touch them and feed them
Are we lost? No...I have the theme park map here mummy.
You cannot catch me......you silly croc...
I'm the a cup mummy, tea or coffee?
Third theme park - Movie World
Did you see Superman anywhere?
Tweety Bird and Bugs Bunny....smile for the camera. Hey you look exactly like my stuff toy at home. Can i take you home?
Save the best for last......Batman! This is what Gold Coast is about for our Joshua.
I have been invisible
Well, mummy have not kept mummy's promise.....to keep an update mummy's blog lately. Well mummy have been very busy especially when it comes to work and with mummy's new portfolio, work is like never ending.
Mummy was not feeling, like the whole week this week but still have to go work as they are too many deadlines that mummy can afford to miss. Until mummy's sick also know mummy have no time for them and has come and gone. Funny that our mind can actually control our body. No time for sick.....well mind is one thing. Mummy dunno how long mummy's body can take it. Mummy's new assistant will be joining this coming Monday and hopefully she will be of help to mummy and able to assist mummy in mummy's job.
Daddy has gone to work today and mummy is home alone as the children are not back from their grandparent's house yet. They have been there 1 month now and we miss them dearly. We are looking forward to their return, somewhere next week. The house won't be as quiet as today when they come back. Joel has started speaking better now and able to articulate clearly now.
So looking forward to this weekend to rest and also to do spring cleaning before the boys come back.

Happy Chinese New Year
Mummy would like to wish all mummy's family and friends a Happy Chinese New Year and happy holiday as well.
Mummy is spending the new year in mummy's hometown and will have to be back real soon to start work again. Mummy was hoping that during this CNY holidays mummy could have some rest and maybe complete some office work but never had the time. Was earlier busy with CNY preparations and later with relatives coming over for visit, visit to friend's house and with mummy's two boys as well. Well time really flies.
Mummy want to spend more time with the two boys more as mummy would have to leave them with their grandparents for a while this round. Their other grandma needs the break after taking care of them for few months and she also had to take care of the other two of her grandchildren. So mummy had to choice but to leave them in mummy's hometown for more than a month. Snif snif......
Anyway, mummy also hope that this round, Joshua & Joel would join the other kids to study and not to forget, play.

I am back!
It's been a long long time since mummy update this blog. Well, it's not easy to find time now a days and it's hard to find peace and quiet too. Now that mummy is waiting for mummy's colleague to finish a report for mummy, thought that mummy could write something here. Daddy is also asking why mummy never write for so long.
There are a lot of happening in between December and today. We had Christmas party, our family holidays and so on. And mummy got promoted too...yahoo. Anyway mummy will need to find some time fill up the empty spaces in this blog with all the juicy stories soon. Hoping to do during the long Chinese New Year break, if mummy has the time.
Nevertheless, mummy want to thank all the faithful readers like Bro Soba and mummy's other friends who always support mummy's blog. So not to disappoint all of you, mummy will try hard to keep the blog going for the year.
See ya soon!

It's Year End
When mummy woke up this morning, mummy realised that we only have another 30 days to year end. How time flies and before you know it, it's 2009. I guess time really flies when we are getting older. We seem to loose track of time faster than ever. When we were studying last time, it's like forever before we could finish a year. Now a days, it's like easily each year passes by without us keeping track of it.
Soon mummy's two boys will be 4 and 2 and it really scares mummy that they are growing up very fast. Mummy has been busy lately that priority in work seems to be playing an important role in mummy's life at the moment. As mummy's company is trying to implement something by 1 Jan 2009, mummy's clock seems to be ticking very fast. There is always so many things to accomplish in this life that we have to prioritize which one should mummy do first. That's what mummy had learned this year. We cannot have more time.....we just need to know what to do first.
God is fair. He gave everybody the same amount of time...24 hours. It's how we use it. But sometimes when you think about it, some people don't have to do so many things and some people have to do so many things. This is not fair. If only we strike lottery and don't have to work anymore...it's everybody's dream come true. How to come true when mummy don't even buy a lottery.

Mummy's Birthday Gift
Mummy got the most expensive gift for a birthday this year and it is mummy's dream present that mummy wanted for over a year now. Daddy gave mummy a surprised on the eve of mummy's birthday. It's a camera from Canon and it's better than what mummy have now. This gives mummy opportunity to learn more on photography, which is mummy's passion and hope that one day mummy is able to take pictures of an official event like, a wedding maybe.
Photography has been very famous hobby lately that every family has one camera now and it's not just a camera but one with a high definition. Mummy never thought that mummy could get one so soon but because of daddy effort, mummy got one this year. Thanks daddy!
My Early Birthday Celebration
Last Friday, mummy's colleagues together with Daddy brought mummy to Italianese Restaurant in Sunway Pyramid for dinner. As mummy was away on mummy's birthday day, so they decided to celebrate earlier for mummy after our office hours.
We had waiters from South Africa and Manila that served us that night. We felt like we were in overseas when we were there. Mummy ordered ceaser salad with calamari and daddy order seafood pasta. We had lots of fun that night and I guess we laugh till other table also wondered why we do so.
Mummy's other colleague, Jane too celebrate the same birthday as mummy. So we also invited her along for the birthday celebration. To make the evening more interesting, the restaurant gave us a birthday surprise. They made us stand up and ask us to sing. But we couldn't sing so everybody sang happy birthday for us. They also gave us bread pudding (on the house) for both of the birthday girls.
But most of all mummy enjoyed the company mummy had that night. After dinner, daddy took mummy to watch James Bond, Quantum of Solace. It was pretty exciting and mummy enjoyed the movie. Well, it;s quiet an action pack show and everybody loves James Bond!
Earlier in the office mummy's colleague bought a cake for mummy and had the first round of birthday celebration for mummy. The other colleague who could not make it for the dinner bought another cake for mummy to take home to eat with daddy. Well mummy is happy to have such caring colleague to work with.

Wedding Anniversary & Birthday
Last weekend we celebrated 4 celebrations in Uncle Peter's house. Daddy was not able to make it as he was working that night. It was actually Uncle Peter's wedding anniversary and also Grandma and Granpa's wedding anniversary on the same day. We also had a surprised birthday celebration for Aunty Dewi whose birthday was the day before and also mummy's birthday which is 2 days away.
We had BBQ lamb, chicken and satey. Besides that Aunty Janet made nice cup cakes with our names on top of it. Mummy enjoyed the cup cakes and thinks that it was very creative of Aunty Janet.
We spend the whole night chit chatting and trying to catch up with the happenings in our daily lives. It was fun but it would be more fun if daddy and the boys were also present.

Tour of Hope
Beginning of this month we were invited by Uncle Peter for a charity dinner organised by his team. The charity is for those who were involved in the recent natural disaster that in need of funds to built schools for the children in Myanmar. The Brazilian football team flew down to Malaysia to play a friendly match with our very own Kedah team, by the way the score was 4-1.
We got to meet with the football team, well to begin with, mummy is not a football fan so mummy don't know their names. So mummy keep on asking daddy, who is that guy? Who is this guy? Well some of them really look hot and fit.
During the charity dinner, which was held in Bangsar Seafood Village, there was also an auction going on for their football jersey and football itself, signed by all the players. The auction starts and you can see hands everywhere for the jersey and the football. Some of the items managed to collect up to RM10,000. Kinda expensive for a football jersey but it's for a good cause and it was worn by a famous footballer. Dun ask mummy the name of the footballer, cause mummy don't know. Hahaha,....that came from a non-football fan.
We had fun that night. Uncle Ramesh and Aunty Dewi also attended the dinner. Grandma and grandpa was in charge of taking care of the heroes and uncle Peter's children too. Back at home they were happy playing together and grandma and grandpa made sure that they didn't get bored by arranging their own games at home. When mummy pick the boys up, Joshua showed mummy the fruits that he won from the games.

Satey Celup
Most people had no idea when mummy mentioned to them about this Malacca delicacy. Sounds interesting, taste really nice and it's all about eating together that makes it nice. What is this satey celup? To start off, we need the satey. It's like normal satey that we eat, but this satey is consist of seafood in a stick. It could be fishball, crab stick, prawns, etc you named it. After that we must have something to 'celup' (to dip into). Basically the dip is the original satey sauce itself which is made out of peanut.
Now that we have all those 'ingredients' for satey celup the next step is to cook it. This is where the fun begins. We dip the whole stick into the peanut sauce which is boiling in the pot which is in the middle of the table. Wait for it to cook and there you have it, satey celup. It is more fun when you eat it together with your family or friends where you can chit chat while waiting for it to cook. The concept is like steamboat, cook it yourself.

A day Trip to Malacca
This weekend, mummy, daddy and Jacinta took a road trip down to Malacca for a relatives wedding. We left for Malacca around 2pm and reached there within 1.5 hours. Not that far from Subang with the KLIA highway. It was raining on the way there but we were glad that it wasn't raining when we reached there. The traffic in Malacca was a little crazy, looking at the school holiday season now.
The jam there was worst than KL I might say cause the road there is very narrow and with the cars from all over, Johor, KL, and even Singapore, made the place so congested. But Malacca has changed a lot since the last time mummy was there. That time Joshua was just a few month's old. It is still very beautiful and there are more things to see and do now. Plenty of attraction like The eye of Malaysia, Taming Sari tower and many more fills the place with tourist.
Besides the history, Malacca somehow has some of the best food. Imagine there are still restaurants and mamak that open their operations till 1.00am. You will never go hungry in Malacca. People do enjoy food till they sleep there.
Well, we did a little side seeing at the famous red building in Malacca. But before we went there, we stop over at Tan Kim Hock and had their famous durian cendol. It was not as nice as it used too, quiet expensive for the portion that we got.
We went to Jonker's Street too. Mummy have been hearing a lot about it but have not been there before. So finally after the wedding, we head to Jonker's street to see what is it all about. It is similar to our very own Petaling Street concept but instead of selling all imitation goods, it sell souvenirs, food, girl's accessories, toys, etc. Quiet interesting I might say. They open around 5pm and closes around 12.00am and only on weekends. The whole road will be blocked off for this 'pasar malam' thingy.
We had all the famous food in Malacca before we left. We had 'O-chean' & Satey Celup. Trip to Malacca would not be complete if all these wonderful food are not tasted. Because of the food, we only left for home at 1.30am. We had an enjoyable trip and would not mind going back again. Next round with our children.
